Cutting many days short earlier in the week left us with no choice but to push hard towards Fargo. Hank's Dad used his Hilton Honors to get us three nights and the Hilton in town, and we were not going to miss one minute there. We are planning to make it to Hope today, about 85 miles, and then Fargo the following, a easy 40. Leaving early in the morning, is good to beat the heat and get a good head start on time, but it also is leaving us with no open stores for food. Today we had 40 miles to the nearest town, Binford, before we could get any food. We were a sorry sight, fighting headwinds the whole way, we have had enough, and took a very long well deserved break. Full and energized we re-mounted and headed towards Hope. Looking behind us the saw thick dark clouds rolling towards us. We road right of its downpour for around 30 miles but finally got caught 20 miles from camp. Stopping to put on our rain ggear we finally get to use, we contiuned on. Trying to keep our thoughts from the miserable rain pounding on us, we played triva games. Turns out our water proof booties only work when wearing water proof pants. It was way to warm to wear the pants so we all had to deal with soaked feet as we entered the very small town of Hope. Wanting to get warm and dry we took shelter in a small diner. Waiting out the storm, we headed to the city park to try to find a dry spot for our tents. Somewhat dry, we headed into our sleeping bags to get warm and fall alseep. Excited to ride in Fargo tomorrow.
